This is an e-bike fan favorite item if you have a Hailong branded battery, like we do! While it is true that you can simply buy a battery from us and mount it on your preexisting threaded water bottle rivets, it is not recommended and highly discouraged. The weight of any batteries, regardless of wattage (Wh) is too heavy for something that was designed to simply hold a water bottle. A loose socket screw or even a crash can further harm or cause irreversible damage to your bike frame, battery, or worse, yourself or another pedestrian. The triple bob from Grin Technologies solves this predicament by giving you two solid points of contact through the chamfered rails, dispersing the weight of the battery throughout the entire tube. It offers a lot versatility because if you do not have enough space for the battery where the current bottle mount exists, you can move the triple bob anywhere on the down, top, or seat tube with the use of hose clamps.

The Grin Technologies Triple Bob is the definitive solution for riders who refuse to compromise on the structural integrity of their bike. While most DIYers are tempted to simply bolt their 10lb battery into their existing water bottle rivets, we strongly discourage this practice. Standard eyelets were designed for a 1lb bottle of water, not a high-capacity lithium-ion pack. The Triple Bob, CNC-machined from solid aluminum in Canada, provides a wide, flat platform that eliminates side-to-side play and wobble by creating a rock-solid point of contact along the entire tube. It’s a fan favorite, not just at Duo Designs but all over the world because it turns a standard conversion into a professional-grade build that can handle the vibrations of the road and the trails.

These pieces are CNC machined from solid aluminum stock and provide a wide and flat platform for the battery cradle to rest, secured with three M5 bolts so there is none of the rocking or play that is sometimes present with water bottle eyelets.
